Meet Dita...

Dita is currently a student at Queens College, working on obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.

Dita's passion for swimming began when she learned to swim a little bit later than her peers at age 11. It took some persisting to venture off into deep water and learning how to safely navigate across the pool. She quickly started to enjoy being in the water.

A few years later she got introduced to competitive swimming and went on to compete in high school for four years. While in high school she pursued a certification in lifeguarding with the city of New York. At age 16 she began lifeguarding at outdoor pools. Two years later she decided to take a chance and tried out for her College's Division II Varsity women's swim team. She went on to compete for four years.

Within those four years she obtained her certifications for the Red Cross as a lifeguard and also a Water Safety Instructor. Dita also has a certification in ocean rescue and works at Rockaway Beach. Dita has been teaching children and adults of all ages for six years and has experience coaching aquatics teams and high school varsity teams in New York. She loves imparting knowledge and seeing individuals broaden their skills and techniques in swimming.

Dita currently holds the following certifications: Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid administrator, and Water Safety Instructor.
